finished PC

Today I have installed Matlab2008b and EndNote X1.Finished customized my PC.Hope everything goes well.
Try to get used to using the En software.
OK.
list of new install softwares.just like a little trick.
bigger bloke:
1.matlab2008b,nearly 4GB.
little tips:
1.EndNote X1,useful for the entire PhD years.
2.Dev C++,although there are no more improvement.
3.Scilab,don't like matlab
monopolic
4.GNUplot,draw good graphs
5.Crismon Editor,free file edit software.
6.iciba,the only Chinese software i have to use.
7.CutePDF Writer,print files into PDF format.
In British,use free softwares.
Thank to GNU.I love open source.

Chat with BEAR

After supervision,I went to 316,had a chat with BEAR.
I become aware of the problem I have.I even don't have a general idea of my subject.
The suggest from BEAR:
First,get the general idea of my subject.
Second,make a framework of it.
Third,get reference on it.
Forth,do practical work.

After two months

Today meet Dave again for the supervision. I am confused about my subject ,it seems that I have wasted all the time doing nothing right.I am doubtful of my IQ.
The life now is not the one I want to lead.
PhD is a fight I have to admit,but I always like challenge.Why I am so wrong on doing research.I really lack of something,maybe only the research state?I don't know.

Helicopter Operations from Ships

Aim of the subject :

The effects of wind around the superstructure of a ship can have significant impact on the handling of helicopters in the landing and takeoff phases of flight.

The project entails the development of a helicopter model, the modelling of ship dynamics in rough seas and the simulation of vortices around the superstructure of a ship. The second part of the study is to investigate flight control systems and guidance systems to improve the safety and operational capability of landing on ships in heavy seas and windy conditions.
